A serious incident took place in Greenwich foot tunnel tonight: a man, closely resembling Andrew Gilligan, rode his bike at full tilt through the tunnel, crowded with pedestrians.

The man, on a white mountain bike, is being sought for defaming the good name of Gilligan, known for his love of the law.

Sources close to the situation said the impersonator (for it must be so!) was “close” to local bloggers. who have recently mounted a secret campaign against Gilligan, one of London’s leading investigative journalists.

The incident, which took place at 7.32pm on Friday evening, left bystanders “shocked and appalled”, according to witnesses.
