London Visitor, you must be talking about another place.

The food, the service and the drinks are always top quality at The Prince.

The prices are reasonable for West Greenwich.

Today we visited this pub after a guided tour of greenwich. We were very dissapointed with the lack of choice on the menu (just 4 items available). The soup was off and there were no sandwiches avaiable. The customer service of the management was dreadful, and they used foul language in front of our three young children.
We waited 40 minutes for our food and had had to ask several times where it was. After making our feelings known to the management we were told that we were taking the P**s and that we would even have to wait at McDonalds. (I don't know which one they go to).
I will be fair and say that the food was flavourful once it arrived although the pasta dishes were tepid and the side dishes were non-existent. The prices are over inflated for the portion sizes and the quality of service. I would NOT reccommend this establishment to larger groups or families with children (they do not have a children menu available) and they are seemingly ill equipped to deal with either.

As well as the great food and beers at the Prince of Greenwich (affectionately known as the POG!) it is a great place to catch events. We hold a regular open mic poetry and original singer/songwriter night in the room above every second Monday of the month called Talking Rhythm! Next one is Monday 10th January 2011 with Blake Morrison as featured guest poet. Upstairs and downstairs is a gallery for local student photographers and there has been live music every Thursday evening with a view to this continuing in the New Year.

Its decor is lovely and you can still find the traditional especially if you sit near the window... there is a trapdoor leading to the cellar a hark-back to the days when the pubs were used as the places for public execution - as well as public libation... ask John one of the landlords he knows the facts...

Yes, but what the hell happened to the actual sign? THere's now just a bracket, with the Courage Rooster, and nothing hanging from it.

Why would someone include the painting of Prince Albert on their flyers, but rip it down from the pub itself? it's hardly a cornerstone of Greenwich heritage, but taking it down seems spectacularly pointless.
