I feel that the Royal in Royal Eltham should not be forgotten in the broader discussion on the matter of Royal Greenwich surely Eltham Palace and its environs with its long history of Royalty should be publicised very much more than it is. Personally I have addressed all greetings cards birthdays Christmas etc to my family using Royal Eltham on the envelope for as long as I have written these, for all that as a Royalist I am as proud as any other of the honour of Royal being prefixed to Greenwich!

[...] leave a comment » Sorry for the lack of exciting updates this week – attention’s been elsewhere, and I’m sure you’ve more exciting things to read than another whine about bins. But I did trot down to Woolwich Town Hall on behalf of greenwich.co.uk to see what was going on at Wednesday’s council meeting. [...]

Making Greenwich a Royal Borough should have been done ages ago, and I welcome it.

However, to read the Greenwich Time "souvenir edition" you'd have thought that this development had happened because it was in the personal gift of .... Cllr Roberts. The chair of one of the Third Sector groups, quoted in that edition, appeared to believe this.
