Event Description
Young people across Greenwich can develop their skills during the summer holidays with free courses and activities organised by Futureversity.
The youth charity has a bumper summer programme for 11-19 year olds (or up to 25 for those with disabilities), funded by the Royal Borough of Greenwich. This year there are over 60 courses to choose from, covering everything from music and performing arts, to art, fashion, business skills, fitness and wellbeing.
For the first time Futureversity is also offering a motivational careers guidance and mentoring workshop, ‘Launch Your Career in 5 Days’. Designed by The Mentoring Lab, the workshop will provide information, advice and guidance to young people ready to progress their career, regardless of their background or personal history.
All courses and activities offer unique opportunities for young people who live, work or study in the borough to learn valuable new skills and develop their potential, while having fun and making new friends.
The free activities and courses run from 23 July to 17 August and all courses are inclusive, all-ability and run by industry professionals. Ranging from sushi making to get into law and making a pair of shoes to parkour and powerboating, there is something for everyone.
This year, there are also 10 courses exclusively for young people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND). These include an experimental art workshop, cheerleading, rock climbing and prototyping an app.
