Cyclist seriously injured after being hit by lorry

A female cyclist was left seriously injured yesterday after being hit by a lorry in Greenwich.

The incident happened at the junction of Vanbrugh Hill and Woolwich Road on Monday.

No further details are yet known but this article will be updated as soon as more information is made available.

In May this year, a female cyclist was killed after colliding with a lorry at the junction of the A102(M) and Woolwich Road.

UPDATE - The Metropolitan Police have not confirmed any further details at all about this, but local sources have told that the victim was 66 year old Stella Chandler and that she has since died due to her injuries.

    I think you’re headline is slightly misleading,I walked passed this accident yesterday and it looked like the lorry had dragged the cyclist with it when leaving the junction,I could be wrong but it was the wrong angle to be a collision,cyclists have to be aware of the dangers of sitting down the side of big trucks,I hope the cyclist is okay but I heard it was a nasty one,didn’t look to good.

    Hi Jo – I contacted the police for an update. The good news is that this was not a fatality. It appears no further information will be forthcoming, though.

    I am sorry to say that the 66 year old woman died on Thursday 10th Dec. She was a popular local recently retired careworker and will be sadly missed.

    i am very sad to hear that one of my old customers has passed from an accident
    it was a shock to all of us as she used to come for her paper in the mornings until she moved to greenwich to retire
    may god give her family strength to carry on life without stella
    we will miss her

    I’m so sorry to hear that Stella didn’t make it. My thought are with her family.
