Greenwich nursery gets Montessori nod

June 17, 2011 By Rob Powell

A nursery in Greenwich has become the first in the borough to be endorsed with the Montessori accreditation.

Little Sponges Montessori in Hyde Vale, which takes children between two and four,  was praised for its “high quality, homely, warm and loving educational provision for the children and their families” by Montessori assessors.

Head and owner Nicole Bacon said: “We’re all thrilled to be officially accredited by such a prestigious organisation. It is a tribute to all the hard work and love we put into Little Sponges.”

The Montessori scheme takes it name from Italian educator, Maria Montessori, whose methods are practiced around the world.
