Stockwell Street exhibition opens

The University of Greenwich’s vision for a large development in Stockwell Street goes on show today.

The public exhibition of their plans for a new library and School of Architecture at the site, which was formely home to the Village Market, runs from today until Saturday at their Greenwich Campus.

    Remember everyone who is against this monstrosity, you only have until Monday 9 March to send your objections in to Greenwich Council about the redevelopment.

    I feel that the new campus is ugly, bland, too large (4 storey) and oppressive, not in keeping with the character of UNESCO World Heritage Site Greenwich, and gives nothing back to the community. On previous plans, space was given for an antiques market, but not anymore…
