Thanks for posting about this, Rob. This finally nudged me to visit the Pleasaunce, for the first time despite living in the Standard for over 10 years, and in the Blackheath/Greenwich/Lewisham area for nearly 30 years!
I noticed an intriguing plaque on the inner side of the east wall, near the Pleasuance Mansions entrance. I couldn’t make out many of the letters, but it seemed to be something about the railway – any insights.
Also, and this is something I’ve been meaning to investigate for years – what is the twiddly building on Halstow Road, overlooking the railway?
