Monopoly Competition: Park Lane

January 2, 2009 By Rob Powell

Last time round we decided that the Greenwich equivalent to Mayfair was Gloucester Circus.

Now we will have a think about the other dark blue square, Park Lane. The real Park Lane is a glamourous road at the western edge of Mayfair, home to grand hotels. In the game, property rents on Park Lane are just a little under Mayfair, so we are looking for another exclusive part of Greenwich for this one.

To enter the competition and stand a chance of winning the one-off custom made Greenwich Monopoly set, just post a comment below with the road in Greenwich that you think is the local alternative to Park Lane. The person or persons who post the name that we agree with will receive one entry each into the draw. If somebody posts the name that you were thinking, don’t be put off adding the same name. Also, feel free to add a reason to help us decide on the right choice!

Entries for this one will remain open until Sunday afternoon.

I’m going to say Crooms Hill. Park Lane is adjacent to Hyde Park. Crooms Hill is adjacent to Greenwich Park.

I think Crooms Hill is the obvious choice , not only because it is adjacent to a royal park, but it also has fine Georgian properties.

Well, this is an easy choice then since there’s only option but it sounds like the best option to me too. Tom, Lorraine and PLJAIKJ all receive one entry in the prize draw,
